Car Preservation
In the carport at the Cross Creek Farmhouse sits a 1940 Oldsmobile similar to one owned by MKR and mentioned in various stories about her. Our car was very sad looking until the exterior was preserved by Dave Barber's Paint and Body Shop in 2004. Now thanks to funding by the Friends of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Farm, Inc., it has regained the original cream color (a 1940's original color; a gorgeous rich yellow) and sits in all it's glory in the carport once again for all to enjoy.
The Olds was looking very sad.
For several months there was no Olds around.
